BAKER MCKENZIE LLP: Baker McKenzie Announces New Leadership Appointments in North America

Baker & McKenzie LLP issued the following announcement on July 1.

Baker McKenzie has announced the appointment of new Managing Partners in four of its North America offices.

Maurice Bellan, a Partner in the Firm's Litigation and Government Enforcement Practice, will be Managing Partner of the Firm's Washington, DC office. Maurice, a former criminal investigator and trial attorney at the US Department of Justice, most recently served as Vice Chair of the Litigation and Government Enforcement Practice. His appointment is effective July 1 and he succeeds Ted Murphy.

Scott Brandman, Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie's New York office and a member of the Firm's Tax Practice, will additionally become Managing Partner of the Firm's Miami office. The New York and Miami offices share many business synergies, particularly around work for clients doing business in Latin America. Bill Roppolo, a member of the Firm's Litigation and Government Enforcement Practice, will serve as local lead partner in the Firm's Miami office. These appointments are effective July 1. Bobby Moore previously served as Managing Partner of the Miami office.

Bobby Albaral, a Partner in the Firm's Tax Practice, will become Managing Partner of the Firm's Texas offices (Dallas and Houston). Bobby has been Managing Partner of the Firm's Dallas office since 2017. His appointment is effective July 1. Brendan Cook, a member of the Firm's Litigation & Government Enforcement practice, will serve as local lead partner in the Houston office. Jonathan Newton previously served as Managing Partner of the Houston office.

Stephanie Vaccari, a Partner in the Firm's Intellectual Property practice, will be Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie's Toronto office. Stephanie leads the Toronto office's Industrial Design and Transactional IP team and co-leads its IP Portfolio Management and Trademark Enforcement teams. Her appointment becomes effective Oct. 1 and she succeeds Kevin Coon.
