Former employee blames back injuries on R&L Carriers negligence

HOUSTON — A former R&L Carriers employee alleges he was required to do heavy lifting required without proper equipment, leading to severe injures to the plaintiff's back. 

Milton Wiltz filed a complaint Oct. 28 in Harris County District Court against R& L Carriers Shared Services LLC,alleging negligence. 

According to the complaint Wiltz was injured Jan. 20, 2018, while engaging in repetitive heavy lifting. The suit states R&L knew "safer alternative working arrangements were available and/or that the equipment needed to safely perform the task was unavailable... the defendant knew that the equipment at hand was improper or insufficient for the plaintiff to safely complete his job tasks." 

The plaintiff alleges he sustained severe injuries to his body, mental anguish, pain, impairment and medical costs.

Wiltz seeks monetary relief between $100,000 and $200,000, trial by jury, interests, litigation costs and all other just relief. He is represented by attorney Ryan Grant of The Trimble & Grant Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
