HOUSTON – A man is suing the Robert Gardner Firefighter Foundation, saying the foundation tried to make an overdue payment of $20,000-plus with a check that bounced.

Guillermo Benia filed a complaint Feb. 10 in the Harris County District Court against the Robert Gardner Firefighter Foundation alleging breach of contract.

Guillermo received a check from the Foundation on Oct. 9, 2019, in the amount of $26,200.00. He alleges the check was overdue and when he attempted to deposit the check on Dec. 16, 2019, payment was refused due to insufficient funds.

Guillermo seeks monetary relief of $100,000 or less, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Attorney Ian Cain in Houston.
