A man seeking to market staffing services was attacked by a dog at a business premises, leading to serious injuries and a lawsuit. Tyron Mills filed the complaint in Harris County District Court on July 12, 2024, against International Wholesales Inc. and Trung C. Vuong.
The incident occurred on January 26, 2024, when Mills approached the front door of International Wholesales Inc. in Houston to discuss staffing services from Phoenix Staffing. Upon asking if it was safe to approach, Vuong assured Mills that it was. However, as Mills stepped forward, the dog lunged and severely bit his lower leg and ankle. The plaintiff alleges that this attack resulted in significant and permanent physical injuries.
Mills accuses Vuong of negligence for failing to restrain the dog despite knowing its aggressive tendencies. According to the filing, "Defendant Trung C. Vuong owed the general public...to keep the Offending Dog restrained." Additionally, both defendants are accused of not warning or protecting Mills from this dangerous condition on their premises. The complaint states that they "knew or should have known of the unreasonably dangerous condition" but did nothing to correct or warn about it.
The plaintiff seeks monetary relief amounting to $250,000 or less for past and future medical expenses, physical pain and mental anguish, lost wages, physical impairment, and disfigurement. Furthermore, due to what is described as gross negligence by Vuong, Mills is also pursuing exemplary and punitive damages.
