AUSTIN – A Seguin woman claims her employer terminated her for pursuing workers’ compensation in response to injuries sustained while snowmobiling on a business outing.

Celina Cruz initially sued R2Sonic, LLC in Travis County Court at Law No. 1 last month. Austin federal court received the case on May 11.

Cruz, who worked for the defendant as an operations coordinator, says the unmentioned injuries’ debilitating effects prompted her to submit a workers’ compensation claim.

The company reportedly negative attitudes towards the plaintiff in response to her request and told her not to file a claim.

Cruz was then fired.

Consequently, she seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Austin Kaplan of the Kaplan Law Firm, PLLC in Austin is representing the complainant.
