HOUSTON – A woman is suing a Holiday Inn claiming she suffered bed bug bites.

Seeking up to $1 million in damages, Elizabeth Jennings filed suit against Liya Investments (Holiday Inn Houston Ne – Bush Airport) and Intercontinental Hotels Group Rersources on May 11 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, In June 2018 Jennings checked into her Holiday Inn room. The following morning, she woke with red irritated marks on her body, which became worse and worse.

“The following morning Plaintiff discovered a bed bug in her bed and immediately notified the front desk,” the suit states. “Plaintiff was informed by Defendant that this was not the first time this had happened.”

Jennings asserts the “bed-bug-infested” room resulted in her injures. She claims the hotel was negligent in failing to keep the property reasonably clean.

She is contending the hotel was grossly negligent and is seeking exemplary damages.

Woodlands attorney Tad Rice represents her.
