A lawsuit in Galveston County, TX, alleges that an electrical subcontractor provided services for another contractor, for which the plaintiff claims to have not been paid a $75,000 contract.

According to the suit, filed Aug. 15 in Galveston County District Court, the plaintiff, Richardson Electric LLC, was contacted in September 2021 by the defendant, All in One Events and Tents LLC, with the opportunity to provide subcontracting electrical services on COVD relief tents.

"The Defendant promised to pay Plaintiff $75,000 for Plaintiff’s services and materials," the suit reads. "Plaintiff performed its end of the bargain fully and well. Despite Plaintiff’s demand and satisfying its obligations under the parties’ agreement, Defendant failed to pay Plaintiff anything."

The suit alleges breach of contract and seeks $75,000 in damages, court costs and attorney's fees. In addition, the suit charged the defendant with unjust enrichment, stating that the defendant "was unjustly enriched. Defendant accepted product and services from Plaintiff under circumstances which Defendant knew, or reasonably should have known, that Plaintiff would be expected to pay for. Despite this, and despite receiving payment itself on the project, Defendant failed to pay for the materials or services Plaintiff provided."

The plaintiff is being represented by Patrick C. Bates of Bates Law LLC of Houston.
