HOUSTON – A man has filed a lawsuit against Bridge Harper Shipyard and Care Care Center claiming that the company botched repairs on his boat, causing it to sink.

Plaintiff Christopher Doleva filed the lawsuit in the Harris County Circuit Court against Bridge Harper Shipyard and Care Care Center, LLC and Marcus Latrel Griffin, citing negligence.

According to the lawsuit, on Feb. 7, 2022, Doleva contracted with the plaintiffs to perform engine repairs to his boat. Doleva claims that during the course of the repairs, the defendant removed the engines from the boat but failed to plug the exhaust ports shut, causing the boat to sink. The estimated value of the boat is $174,650

Doleva states that the defendants were negligent in failing to safely and properly perform the boat repairs and otherwise failing to act as reasonable in the same or similar circumstances.

The plaintiff is demanding a jury trial to seek damages for $174,650, plus court costs, interest, attorneys fees, and any other relief the court deems proper. He is represented in this case by attorneys Matthew R. Chaney, Stephanie E. Garner and Meredith M. Peek of The Garner Law Firm in Houston.
