HOUSTON – A Harris County resident has filed a lawsuit against a Texas trucking company, claiming that after one of its drivers turned into his vehicle, they refused to provide identification and left the scene of the accident.

Plaintiff Neirelys Luis Diaz filed a federal lawsuit against Adelsa Trucking and an unknown employee, "John Doe," citing various allegations of negligence.

According to court documents, the plaintiff, a Harris County resident, claims that on March 13, 2023, he was in a vehicle collision with an unnamed Adelsa Trucking employee, "John Doe." Doe was allegedly operating a tractor-trailer within the scope of his employment when he collided with the plaintiff's vehicle. Following the incident, Doe allegedly refused to exchange identification with the plaintiff and left the scene.

The plaintiff accuses Doe of negligence, citing failures such as inattentiveness, unsafe turning, failure to control speed, and disregard for traffic laws. Additionally, the plaintiff says that Adelsa Trucking is vicariously responsible for their employee's actions and accuses the company of negligence in hiring, training, and supervision.

The plaintiff is seeking compensation for bodily injuries, physical pain, mental anguish, physical impairment, medical expenses, exemplary/punitive damages, plus interest, court costs, attorney's fees, and any other relief the court deems proper. He is represented by attorney Leena Joseph of the Law Offices of Domingo Garcia, L.L.P., in Houston.
