Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet in Houston faces lawsuit following alleged slip-and-fall injury

HOUSTON – A patron is filing a negligence lawsuit against Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet, claiming she injured herself following a slip-and-fall incident.

Plaintiff Gloria Arroyo filed the lawsuit in the Harris County District Court against Dimassi's Allen Inc., doing business as Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet, citing negligence and premises liability.

According to the lawsuit, on Dec. 16, 2021, Arroyo was a patron at Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet in Houston. She claims that while she was on the premises, she slipped on a liquid and lime peels that had previously fallen and were allowed to remain on the floor.

The lawsuit accuses the defendant of breaching its duty to properly maintain the premises in order to protect the safety of patrons and cites several forms of negligence including failing to properly train and supervise employees, failing to implement adequate policies, and failing to properly inspect and clean the premises.

Arroyo claims to have sustained bodily injuries because of the defendant's negligence. She is seeking damages for pain, suffering, mental anguish, physical impairment, disfigurement, and medical expenses, plus interest, and any other relief the court deems proper.
