HOUSTON - A man who tripped over some tree branches while taking out his trash is suing the companies that allegedly left them scattered throughout his yard the night before.

Alleging gross negligence, Willis Breaux filed suit against North Houston Pole Line and Quanta Services on Dec. 22 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Jan. 10, 2022, Breaux was moving his trash bin from his backyard to the curb when he tripped and fell over some branches that had been left scattered in his yard from work the defendants were doing the night before in response to a power outage.

Breaux alleges the defendants had awareness of the risk involved but nevertheless proceeded with their conduct with conscious indifference to the safety of others.

He is suing for his past and future medical expenses, pain, impairment, mental anguish, disfigurement, loss of earnings and loss of services.

The Roxell Richards Law Firm represents him.
