Woman sues H-E-B claiming she slipped on eggs and fell into basket

HOUSTON - A woman is suing the HEB Grocery Company claiming that she stepped on eggs left on the floor and slipped, falling forward into her basket. 

Seeking up to $1 million in damages, Danita Woodson filed her suit on Jan. 18 in Harris County District Court. 

According to her lawsuit, on Oct. 28, 2023, Woodson was shopping for groceries at a Houston H-E-B. She was in the dairy section when she stepped on eggs on the floor. 

“The Plaintiff slipped and fell forward into her basket and toward the ground,” the suit states. “Defendant… negligently allowed the… unreasonably dangerous condition.” 

Woodson is seeking damages for her alleged pain, mental anguish, medical expenses and lost earnings.
