HOUSTON - A man working as a beer distributor is claiming a dumpster door fell off its hinges and collapsed on him while at a gas station.

Seeking up to $1 million in damages, Luis Gonzalez filed suit against Kroozin Market on Jan. 26 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Nov. 10, 2022, Gonzalez was working as a beer distributor for Budweiser at Kroozin’s gas station. He was breaking down wooden pallets and throwing them in a dumpster.

“Upon opening one of the dumpster door(s), the door fell off from its hinges and collapsed on Plaintiff,” the suit states. “Plaintiff was crushed by the door that fell as it landed on Plaintiff’s neck and shoulder area.”

Gonzalez is alleging negligence and seeks damages for his medical expenses, lost earnings, mental anguish and disfigurement. He is also seeking punitive damages.

The Pierce Skrabanek law firm represents him.
