HOUSTON - A woman is suing an apartment complex claiming she was struck by a car racing through the parking lot nearly two years ago.

Alleging gross negligence, Alondria Jeanae Riston filed suit against the Harris County Housing Authority Public Facility Corporation on Feb. 5 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, Riston was at the Cornerstone Park Apartments on Feb. 12, 2022, visiting a friend. As she was leaving, a Dodge Charger was racing through the parking lot at a high speed and struck her, causing serious injury.

Riston claims that at the time of the incident the security gate was open and there was no security guard on duty.

She claims HCHA acted with conscious indifference to the safety of others.

She is seeking damages for her pain, mental anguish, disfigurement, impairment and loss of enjoyment.

Attorney Ken Bigham represents her.
