Woman sues H-E-B claiming she tripped on rug

HOUSTON - A woman is seeking up to $1 million in damages from H-E-B for injuries she allegedly received after tripping on a rug two years ago. 

Alleging negligence, Wendy Winands filed her suit Feb. 5, 2024, in Harris County District Court. 

According to the lawsuit, on Feb. 5, 2022, Winands was at an H-E-B in Kingwood shopping. She was attempting to round a corner when her foot got caught underneath a rug that was not properly placed on the floor, causing her to fall. 

Winands is suing her for medical expenses, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages.
