Man sues claiming dog resembling a pit bull attacked him

HOUSTON - A lawsuit seeking more than $1 million in damages is alleging a dog that looked like a pit bull attacked a man and his dog. 

Alleging negligence, James Roger Kelley filed suit against Daniel O. Slack, Jr. on Feb. 5 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Oct. 20, 2023, Kelley was on his morning walk with his golden retriever when a dog that looked like a pit bull broke through the fence and began attacking his dog. 

When Kelley tried to get the other dog off his, it attacked him, causing puncture wounds on his left arm, hand and face. He had to be transported to the hospital afterward. 

The plaintiff is represented by attorney Steven Norris of Miller Law and attorney Dean Blumrosen of Blumrosen Law Firm.
