HOUSTON - A man waiting to get into a nightclub was shot after an argument broke out between two males, according to a recently filed lawsuit.

Seeking more than $1 million in damages, Henry Hooper filed suit against The CLE Group and Couer Manager on Feb. 12 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Aug. 16, 2022, Hooper was waiting in line to get inside the Heart Nightclub when two males began arguing outside of the club.

“Eventually the argument turned into a fight and shots were fired,” the suit states. “Plaintiff was shot twice and suffered severe and lasting injuries from which he still suffers to this day.”

The suit is alleging the defendants were negligent in their hiring and training of security personnel.

Attorney Jack Nugent of Pierce Skrabanek represents the plaintiff.
