In the District Court of Harris County, Texas, Elisa Minadio has filed a lawsuit against Arianna Breanna Johnson and GuardTexas, Inc. The case is identified as 2024-20072, filed on March 28, 2024. The incident in question occurred on April 6, 2023. According to the court filing, Minadio was lawfully crossing a crosswalk when she was struck by a white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by Johnson. Johnson allegedly failed to yield the right-of-way to Minadio causing her significant injuries.
GuardTexas Inc., where Johnson is an employee, is also implicated in the lawsuit. The plaintiff accuses the company of negligence in hiring and supervising Johnson as well as entrusting her with the vehicle involved in the accident.
Minadio seeks judgment against both defendants for their alleged negligence. She claims that as a direct result of their actions she suffered physical pain and mental anguish; physical impairment; incurred medical expenses; loss of earning capacity; and is entitled to pre-judgment and post-judgment interest.
