In the District Court of Harris County, Texas, plaintiff Edin Acosta has filed a lawsuit against Integrity Bldg Technologies, LLC. The case, identified as 2024-21402 and filed on April 4, 2024, alleges negligence and gross negligence on the part of the defendant resulting in serious injuries to Mr. Acosta.

On August 2028, Mr. Acosta was working at a new warehouse being constructed at 7730 East Freeway, Baytown, Texas. As per the filing by his lawyer Tianni Williams, he was instructed to climb inside a metal box which was then lifted by a large forklift operated by an employee of Integrity Bldg Technologies. The operator allegedly backed up too quickly and veered the forks diagonally causing Mr. Acosta to fall 35 feet down to the ground.

As a result of this incident, Mr. Acosta sustained severe injuries including a burst fracture in his lumbar vertebrae and a right calcaneal fracture. He was knocked unconscious for approximately thirty minutes and had to wear a back brace and use a walker for mobility. The lawsuit claims that Integrity failed to properly train and certify the forklift operator and supervise its operation.

Mr. Acosta is seeking monetary relief over One Million dollars ($1,000,000) citing negligence on part of Integrity Bldg Technologies in maintaining safe working conditions and failing to warn him about known dangers.
