Two Beaumont women involved in suit over auto collision

A Beaumont woman has filed suit against the woman she claims collided with her in an accident.

Lisa Anderson says she was involved in an accident with Tara Coco in Jefferson County on April 30, but does not provide additional details about how the accident happened.

According to the Jefferson County complaint, Anderson sustained physical pain, suffering, mental anguish and physical impairment from the collision. She also incurred medical costs and lost wages, the suit states.

The plaintiff alleges Coco negligently failed to control her speed, failed to maintain a proper lookout, failed to apply her brakes, failed to drive in a safe manner and failed to maintain control of her vehicle, the complaint says.

Anderson is seeking an unspecified judgment, plus pre- and post-judgment interest at the legal rate, costs and other relief to which she may be entitled.

She is represented by Jon B. Burmeister of Moore Landrey in Beaumont.

The case has been assigned to Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court.

Jefferson County District Court case number: D184-221.
