Bank sues woman to recoup loan

Community Bank has filed suit against a Beaumont woman, alleging she owes it more than $20,000.

Community Bank of Texas claims Traci Lyn Slaughter failed to make payments on her loan with the bank.

"The principal balance due Plaintiff on this account is $21,102.95, plus accrued interest, after all just and lawful offsets, payments and credits have been allowed," the suit filed March 31 in Jefferson County District Court states.

Community Bank alleges breach of written contract against Slaughter.

In addition to the money it says it is owed, Community Bank is seeking pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and other relief the court deems just.

John Pat Parsons of Lindsay Law Firm in Beaumont will be representing it.

The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.

Jefferson County District Court case number: A186-439.
