Latest hurricane-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County, April 19-23, 2010

A total of five new lawsuits have been filed against insurance companies over hurricane damage claims in Jefferson County District Court the week of April 19-23, 2010.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Gloria Boseman of 2775 Amarillo St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof, water, wind, contents, foundation and structural damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Boseman will be represented by Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D186-633.

  • Luis Espinoza of 5274 Landry Drive in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Espinoza will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk and Jessica L. Hallmark of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E186-650.

  • Israel Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church of 948 Texas Ave. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied its claim for damages caused to its property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Israel Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church will be represented by Riley L. Barnett Jr. of Clark, Dean and Burnett in Houston and by Robert D. Green of Robert D. Green and Associates in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: B186-664.

  • James and Canh Johnson of 5335 Combs Drive in Beaumont allege Fire Insurance Exchange denied their claim for roof, water, wind and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Johnsons will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: D186-635.

  • Patricia Mack of 1934 Wignall Ave. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for damages caused to her home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Mack will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk and Jessica L. Hallmark of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A186-649.
