A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims struck the vehicle in which she was riding.
Sonya Briscoe claims she was riding in a vehicle Valencia Aplon was driving north in the 4400 block of Park Street in Beaumont when she attempted to proceed through an intersection.
Suddenly, Griffin, who was also trying to cross through the intersection, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck Aplon's vehicle, according to the complaint filed June 17 in Jefferson County District Court.
Because of the collision, Briscoe suffered harm and physical and mental pain, the suit states.
In her complaint, Briscoe is seeking unspecified damages, plus interest and other relief to which she may be entitled.
Larry Watts of Watts and Associates in Missouri City will be representing her.
The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.
