A man claims he sustained various injuries after a driver failed to keep a proper lookout and struck his vehicle.
Todd Broussard filed a lawsuit March 13 in Jefferson County District Court against Larry Eugene Long.
In his complaint, Broussard alleges he drove in Jefferson County on Nov. 24, 2010, when Long struck his vehicle. Broussard does not provide additional details about where the collision took place or why it happened.
Because of the collision, Broussard incurred medical costs, experienced physical pain and suffering and sustained mental anguish, according to the complaint. In addition, he lost earnings, suffered physical impairment and incurred property damages, the suit states.
Broussard blames Long for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to maintain control of his vehicle, drove too fast, failed to timely apply his brakes, failed to exercise ordinary care, failed to turn to avoid the collision, failed to keep adequate distance from Broussard and failed to stop to avoid the collision, among other negligent acts.
In his complaint, Broussard seeks a judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and other relief the court deems just.
