Entergy recently filed a certificate of written discovery in litigation brought by Shelly Conner, whose son, Quantae, mowed over a downed power line, causing electricity to course through his body.
The lawsuit, filed Feb. 2, 2011, in Jefferson County District Court, claims the power company’s workers failed to repair the line following Hurricane Ike.
Court records how that the certificate was filed Aug. 2 and states that Entergy has served plaintiffs with its second supplemental responses to request for disclosure.
The suit states that on Feb. 21, 2009, Quantae rolled his father’s lawn mower over a power line hidden by long grass while mowing the back yard of his Port Arthur home.
The electric shock was so bad he had to be rushed to the hospital, the suit states.
The plaintiffs contend Entergy had a duty to hire and train competent workers to repair the damage caused by Hurricane Ike.
