Gov. Greg Abbott recently appointed three more district judges, bringing his total to seven judges appointed in the final weeks of August.

On Aug. 26 Abbott appointed David Perwin to the 505th Judicial District Court; Susan Rankin to the 254th District Court; and Chad Bridges of Sugar Land to the 240th Juridical District Court.

The appointments of Perwin and Rankin will be effective Sept. 1.

Perwin serves as associate judge in the 387th Judicial District Court in Fort Bend County. He was previously a sole practitioner at Perwin Law Firm, PLLC and a managing attorney at Becerra, Colgin & Perwin, PLLC.

Rankin is board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and was most recently a partner at Rochelle & Rankin LLP. She previously served as judge of the 301st Judicial District Court in Dallas County.

Bridges has practiced law in the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office for more than 12 years.

He currently serves as a chief prosecutor overseeing the Family Violence Division. He is director of the Crime Victim’s Response Team, and he is a member of the Fort Bend County Human Trafficking Task Force, State Bar Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee and the Texas District and County Attorneys Association.

The terms are set to expire at the next general election in November 2016.
