A Port Arthur woman is suing Wal-Mart over injuries she sustained in one of its stores, claiming the store's negligence was the cause of her injuries.

Susan Hebert filed a complaint Sept. 24 in Jefferson County District Court against Wal-Mart Stores Texas, alleging negligence.

On Nov. 10, 2013, the complaint states, Hebert was inside the premises of a Walmart at 8585 Memorial Blvd. when a pallet of electronics fell on her.

The complaint states the defendant was negligent in failing to provide reasonably safe conditions on the premises and for failing to warn of an unsafe condition, among other negligent acts or omissions.

As a result, Hebert sustained injuries to her right leg, knee, and calf, and underwent implantation of a spinal cord stimulator. She has also sustained physical pain and mental anguish, impairment and disfigurement, loss of earnings and earning capacity, and has incurred medical expenses.

Hebert seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, plus interests and costs of the suit.

She is represented by Jonathan C. Juhan and J.J. Bragg of Beaumont.
