Guest blames La Quinta for injuries

BEAUMONT  — A guest is suing La Quinta, alleging negligence led to her falling on an uneven floor.

Elizabeth Ann Carr filed a lawsuit March 31, in Jefferson County District Court against Yogiji Hospitality Inc. also known as La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn & Suites of Beaumont, Texas and La Quinta Holdings Inc., alleging negligence in failing to provide a safe area for guests or and warn of any hazards that may cause injuries.

According to the complaint, on May 5, 2014, Carr suffered injuries to her right knee when she tripped over uneven floor at the La Quinta in Beaumont. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to warn Carr the flooring was still under construction.

Carr seeks a trial by jury, damages, prejudgment interest, post judgment interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Adam Nichols of Reaud, Morgan & Quinn LLP in Beaumont.
