HOUSTON — A Houston pest control company is suing a Humble man, alleging breach of an employment agreement.

ABC Pest Control of Houston Inc. filed a lawsuit Sept. 27 in Harris County District Court against Jonathan Tallent, alleging the former employee violated the non-solicitation and the non-compete provision of their contract.

According to the complaint, ABC Pest Control suffered monetary damages for expending money for Tallent's training and education on pest control techniques and technical information. The plaintiff alleges Tallent resigned May 11, while the agreement was still in effect, and started his own business in direct competition with the plaintiff.

ABC Pest Control seeks trial by jury, an order enjoining the defendant to return the plaintiff's confidential information, to refrain from contacting and doing business with the plaintiff's customers, damages, litigation costs and all other relief. It is represented by attorney D. Scott Funk of Gray Reed & McGraw PC in Houston.
