HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing a private school operator, alleging the defendant's negligence led to injuries sustained by the plaintiff.

Yvette Chambers filed a lawsuit Nov. 4 in Harris County District Court against Little People's Learning Tree LLC, doing business as Little People's Learning Tree Daycare, alleging failure to provide a safe workplace.

According to the complaint, on March 16, 2015, while in the course and scope of her employment with the defendant, Chambers was trying to stop a child from running. The suit says she tripped on a table leg and fell. The suit says Chambers suffered serious injuries, past and future impairment and disability, physical pain, mental anguish, medical expenses and loss and/or reduction of earnings.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to provide proper assistance and training, failed to provide safety policies and practices and failed to provide properly trained supervisors and directors.

Chambers seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and all other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by attorneys Loren G. Klitsas and Jared W. Capps of Klitsas & Vercher PC in Houston.
