National Motel No. 5 employee alleges water on bathroom floor caused fall

Slip02

HOUSTON – An employee of a Houston motel alleges that she fell and was injured while cleaning a room because of water on the floor.

Christine Norwood filed a complaint on May 8 in the Harris County District Court against Taylor Jet Inc., doing business as National Motel No. 5, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 17, 2017, she permanently injured her right wrist after it broke when she fell cleaning defendant's motel room due to water on the floor of the bathroom. Norwood claims that the said collection of water in the room was known to defendant.

The plaintiff holds National Motel No. 5 responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide a safe working environment and failed to implement and/or enforce a safety program for employees.

The plaintiff seeks all damages with interests, costs and such other and further relief to which she may be justly entitled to at law or in equity. She is represented by Daniel B. Cratty of The Cratty Law Firm PLLC in Sugar Land.
