HOUSTON – A Bowie resident alleges his oil and natural gas services employer has failed to pay him overtime compensation.

Tyler Stark filed a complaint on Aug. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas against EOG Resources Inc. alleging that the natural gas company violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff began his employment with the defendant in March 2015 as a gas plant operator. He alleges that he typically worked approximately 84 hours a week for seven days in a row and then was off for the next seven days.

The plaintiff holds EOG Resources Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly improperly split the hours between the week that he worked and the week that he is off, 44 hours in one week and 40 hours the next, to avoid paying appropriate overtime compensation.

The plaintiff seeks unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees, costs and expenses and such other relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by James M. Loren, George Z. Goldberg and Rachael Rustmann of Goldberg & Loren PA in Dallas.
