GALVESTON — A Galveston RV resort is facing a negligence claim by a woman claiming she tripped over an unmarked parking curb and sustained injuries.

Lorettaann Rodriguez filed a complaint Oct. 15 in the Galveston County District Court against Stella Mare RV Resort alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on June 30, 2019, Rodriguez was walking through the parking lot at Stella Mare RV Resort located on Stella Mare Lane in Galveston. She alleges that she "fell off of the unmarked parking lot curb" and suffered "severe injuries" including mental anguish, physical pain, medical expenses, lost wages and impairment and disability. Rodriguez claims Stella Mare RV Resort is negligent for failing to mark or paint the parking curb and for maintaining their property in a "reckless and careless manner."

She also claims Stella Mare RV Resort's premises posed "an unreasonable risk of harm" and that the resort "knew or reasonably should have known" the unmarked parking curb was a danger to those on the premises. Rodriguez also states in her complaint that Stella Mare RV Resort breached the duty of ordinary care "by failing to inspect the premises."

Rodriguez seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Loren Klitsas of Klitsas & Vercher PC in Houston.
