Customer claims she tripped over merchandise on floor of Houston Dollar Tree store

HOUSTON — A woman alleges she tripped over merchandise scatter across the aisle at a Houston Dollar Tree store and suffered injuries. 

Jasmine Williams filed a complaint  Oct. 3 in Harris County District Court against Dollar Tree Stores Inc., alleging negligence. 

Williams, according to her complaint, was at the Dollar Tree store in Houston on Sept. 7, 2022. She claims that as she was walking through the store, she tripped over merchandise that had been littered across the aisle. 

Williams alleges Dollar Tree's negligence for failing to maintain their floor and walkways in a reasonably safe condition and for failing to inspect its premises. She also alleges Dollar Tree was negligent for failing to warn of the dangerous condition and that there were no signs of caution near the area where she tripped. Williams claims Dollar Tree was also negligent for failing to correct the hazard which caused her to suffer pain, impairment, disfigurement, loss of earning capacity and to incur medical expenses. 

Williams seeks monetary relief of less than $250,000, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Nathan Maurer of The Maurer Law Firm in Houston.
