A Texas worker has filed a million-dollar lawsuit against his employers, alleging severe injuries sustained when he fell through a skylight in their warehouse due to negligence.
Plaintiff Alfredo Granados filed the lawsuit in the District Court of Harris County against Asia Chemical Corporation, Inc., ACPI, Ltd., and Tesia, Inc., citing negligence and premise liability.
According to the lawsuit, on September 27, 2023, Granados was at a warehouse owned, operated and maintained by the defendants. Granados claims that while he was on the premises, he fell through a dangerous skylight and sustained severe brain injuries, a fractured skull, a broken elbow and numerous other injuries that have required surgery.
According to Granados, the defendants were aware of the extreme risk posed by the skylight but negligently failed to take actions to protect the health and safety of others by failing to provide proper training and supervision for their employees, failing to provide a safe work area, failing to provide proper equipment, failing to provide warning of the dangerous conditions of the worksite, and other negligent acts.
Granados claims to have sustained severe physical injuries which have caused him to experience pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement, physical impairment, and lost wages. He adds that his injuries will affect his ability to earn income in the future and that he has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover from his injuries.
The plaintiff is demanding a trial jury to seek damages in excess of $1,000,000, plus interest, court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. He is represented in this case by attorneys Jason A. Itkin, Cory D. Itkin and Alexandra F. Poulson of Arnold & Itkin, LLP, in Houston.
