HOUSTON - A personal injury suit over a broken crane seat has been filed suit against the Port of Houston Authority of Harris County.

Alleging negligence, Jose Menchaca and Benjamin Lozoya filed the suit March 20 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on April 29, 2022, and May 1, 2022, the plaintiffs were working as longshore crane operators at the Bayport Terminals. A broken seat and crane allegedly caused both men to “bounce around every time they made a lift, which caused bodily injuries.”

The plaintiffs accuse the defendants of negligently failing to place the crane out of service.

They are suing for their pain, mental anguish, impairment and lost wages.

Attorney Dennis L. Brown represents them.
