$10M suit suit against grocery store alleges shopper was struck by vehicle in parking lot

HOUSTON - Arlan’s Market knew that the conditions of its parking lot were reasonably dangerous, asserts a lawsuit against the company seeking up to $10 million in damages.

Alleging negligence and premises liability, John Walker filed his suit on March 25 in Harris County District Court. 

According to the lawsuit, on June 1, 2023, Walker was an Arlan’s Market patron when a vehicle struck the plaintiff in the parking lot, causing injury. 

Since the incident, the plaintiff has been in and out of physical rehabilitation centers, the suit states. 

The suit asserts the defendant failed to eliminate the unreasonable risk of harm. 

Walker seeks between $5 million and $10 million in damages.
