Paul Michael Avila d/b/a Uptown Exotic Car Rental sues Carlos Vasquez for damages to a rented vehicle

Paul Michael Avila, doing business as Uptown Exotic Car Rental, has filed a lawsuit against Carlos Vasquez in the District Court of Harris County, Texas. The court case ID is 2024-19750 and it was filed on March 28, 2024. The plaintiff alleges that the defendant caused damages to a rented vehicle and refused to compensate for the repair costs.

The plaintiff claims that on September 8, 2023, Vasquez leased a white Ferrari F8 Spider from Uptown Exotic Car Rental for four days at a rate of $2,167 per day. During this period, the car was damaged while being towed from 300 Main Street in Houston. Despite this damage being caused under his care, Vasquez has allegedly refused to cover the repair costs and loss of use.

Uptown Exotic Car Rental is seeking monetary relief over $250,000 but not more than $1,000,000. The damages include repair costs, loss of use and diminution in value. Additionally, they are seeking pre and post judgment interest at rates allowed by law and attorney's fees.
