In the County Civil Court at Law No. 2 of Harris County, Texas, plaintiff Delaney Harris-Finch has filed a lawsuit against defendants Valerie Elena Cerda and Larry Lee Cerda. The case, bearing the ID 1229204, was lodged on March 28, 2024. The plaintiff alleges that the defendants were responsible for a motor vehicle accident that resulted in damages to her property.

The plaintiff's lawyer, Stephen E. Garner from The Garner Law Firm, asserts that the accident occurred on May 15, 2023. It is alleged that defendant Valerie Elena Cerda drove negligently and unsafely, causing a collision with the plaintiff's vehicle. Furthermore, it is claimed that defendant Larry Lee Cerda negligently entrusted his vehicle to Valerie Elena Cerda who was deemed unlicensed and unfit to operate a motor vehicle safely.

The lawsuit details that as a result of the defendants' negligence, the plaintiff suffered personal property damages including loss of market value of her vehicle, tow and storage expenses and salvage fee expenses. These damages are quantified at $20,876.44.

Harris-Finch seeks judgment against the defendants for an amount exceeding the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court along with pre-judgment interest at the highest rate allowed by law from the date suit was filed until judgment is passed. She also demands post-judgment interest and costs of suit along with any other relief she may be justly entitled to.
