On June 24 state Rep. Dan Huberty, R- Humble, announced his intention to run for re-election for District 127 of the Texas House of Representatives.
“It has been my honor to serve the taxpayers of District 127 for more than five years,” said Huberty. “Now, I look forward to getting back out on the campaign trail to talk to the voters, so I can continue to serve their interests at the State Capitol.”
The day after his announcement, Huberty earned the endorsement of Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC, the political arm of the state's largest civil justice reform organization.
“State Rep. Dan Huberty is a committed conservative and a respected and influential Member of the Texas House,” said Sherry Sylvester, a TLR spokesperson, in a June 25 press release.
“As a businessman, Rep. Huberty understands the importance of lawsuit reform in creating jobs and keeping the Texas economy strong while insuring that our civil justice system is balanced and fair. During his three terms in the Texas Legislature, Rep. Huberty has demonstrated both leadership and policy expertise. TLRPAC is proud to endorse him.”
First elected in 2010, Rep. Huberty serves on the State Affairs Committee as well as on the Public Education and Calendars committees. He is a consultant who works with both large corporations and small companies to improve their sales processes.
According to the press release, his expertise has allowed him to consult across a variety of sectors, from oil and gas to local real estate. He is the former Executive Vice President for SP Plus Corporation and has also served as a Vice President for a natural gas fueling company.
“As a small business owner, I know the needs of this community and my constituents and I am hopeful that they will vote to send me back to Austin to continue fighting for them,” Huberty said.
Huberty was first elected to the Texas House of Representative in 2010. He has served the citizens of District 127 in the 82nd, 83rd and 84th legislative sessions. He has seen many successes in those last three sessions in areas ranging from public education to power generation and even tax relief for small business.
Dan and his wife Janet live in Walden on Lake Houston with their three children, Brianna, Ryan and Dylan. They are active parishioners at Saint Martha’s Catholic Church. House District 127 is in Harris County.
