Pedestrian files suit after being struck by vehicle

A Jefferson County man is suing over claims he was struck by a vehicle while a pedestrian on Main Avenue in Groves.

Christopher Anthony Aguilar filed a lawsuit Sept. 26 in Jefferson County District Court against Blaine Eugene Murphy, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Aguilar was a pedestrian on Main Avenue in Groves on Sept. 29, 2012, when he was struck by Murphy's vehicle and sustained injuries. Murphy is accused of negligence in failing to swerve or keep a proper lookout.

Aguilar seeks more than $100,000 in damages, including medical expenses and lost wages, interest and costs of court.

He is represented by attorneys Jack Todd Ivey and Jacob D. Barber of Ivey Law Firm in Houston.
