Man says insurer didn't compensate him properly

A Calhoun County man is suing over claims he hasn't been compensated by his insurance company for a collision with an under-insured motorist.

Howard Williams filed a lawsuit Oct. 21 in Galveston County District Court against Colonial County Mutual Insurance Company.

According to the complaint, Williams was injured in a collision with another motorist March 21, 2012, when the other motorist negligently failed to keep a safe distance and proper lookout and caused a collision. The complaint states the negligent motorist was insured by State Farm but did not have enough coverage to compensate Williams for his injuries. Williams says at the time of the collision he had a policy of under-insured motorist coverage with the defendant and is suing for those benefits, including medical expenses, lost wages and lost earning capacity.

Williams also seeks court costs and interest. He is represented by attorneys Michael J. Griffin III and Marilyn O. Griffin of Griffin & Griffin in Houston.
