Woman sued for student loan debt

A Jefferson County woman is being sued over claims the student loan on which she is a guarantor has gone into default.

National Collegiate Student Loan Trust 2007-3, a Delaware statutory trust, filed a lawsuit Sept. 29 in Jefferson County District Court against Mildred Price, citing breach of contract.

According to the complaint, April Price incurred a student loan for her education at Lamar University through a promissory note with with Bank of America, guaranteed by Mildred Price. The complaint states there was a deferral period for the repayment of the loan which has past, and April Price has failed to make payments, owing more than $18,000 as of June. The plaintiff says it has approached Mildred Price for payment but she has failed to do so and is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff seeks the $18,000 owed plus interest and costs of court.

It is represented by attorney Michael J. Scott of Scott, Parnell and Associates in Carrollton.
