Woman says she was hurt in collision on Texas 69

A Jefferson County woman is suing over claims she was injured in a collision on state Highway 69.

Mandi Hill filed a lawsuit Sept. 24 in Jefferson County District Court against Yolanda Fischer, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Hill was driving on Highway 69 in Port Arthur on Nov. 25, 2013, when her vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Fischer, causing serious injuries to Hill, including injuries to her spine and right knee. Fischer is accused of negligence, negligence per se and gross negligence in failing to yield right of way and striking the rear of Hill's vehicle.

Hill seeks actual, compensatory, punitive and exemplary damages, including medical expenses, lost wages, lost earning capacity, interest and costs of court. She is represented by attorney Gilbert T. Adams III of Gilbert Adams Law Office in Beaumont.
