Kemah collision results in lawsuit

Wreck4

Two Texas residents are suing over claims they were injured in a collision when another driver allegedly ran a red light.

Billy H. Woosley Jr. and Patty A. Woosley filed a lawsuit Nov. 10 in Galveston County District Court against Cody T. Peck, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Bill Woosley was driving a vehicle in which Patty Woosley was a passenger on Lawrence Road in Kemah on March 14, 2013, when they were stopped at a red light at the road's intersection with FM 518. The complaint states that when the light turned green, Bill Woosley drove the vehicle into the intersection but Peck, who was driving west on FM 518, failed to stop at the red light and collided with the plaintiffs' vehicle. The plaintiffs say they sustained injuries, and Peck is accused of negligence and negligence per se.

The Woosleys seek damages for medical expenses, loss of earning capacity, lost wages, interest and costs of court. They are represented by attorneys Joseph D. Terry and L. Lee Thweatt of Terry and Thweatt in Houston.
