Woman says she was injured working on home

Contractor

A Lumberton woman is suing over claims she was injured while working a house leveling job.

Stacey Harrison filed a lawsuit Oct. 16, 2014, in Jefferson County District Court against Edward Trevino.

According to the complaint, Trevino invested in a home on Howe Street in Groves that required repairs and hired a contractor to perform leveling services. The complaint states the contractor hired Harrison to help, and she began work Oct. 9, 2014, after she and the contractor had been assured all power to the structure had been turned off. Harrison says her hand came into contact with an exposed and electrified wire and became attached to the wire until power could be turned off, causing extensive burns to her hand.

Harrison seeks more than $200,000 in damages. She is represented by attorney Jeffrey T. Roebuck of Roebuck, Thomas, Roebuck and Adams in Beaumont.
