Couple sues for title to property

Title deeds

A Jefferson County couple is suing for the title to their home of more than 11 years.

Lawrence Marshall, et ux, filed a lawsuit Nov. 4 in the Jefferson County District Court against Forrest Joseph Beverly.

According to the complaint, Marshall and his wife, Vicki Marshall, paid valuable consideration to Beverly for property in Jefferson County on the assurance that he would execute and deliver a deed, which was never delivered, but the Marshalls took possession of the property May 29, 2003. The complaint states a special warranty deed was executed by a Rhilda Beverly to Forrest Beverly and several others, but Forrest Beverly is the only one who accepted consideration on the property. The Marshalls have lived on the property for more than 11 years.

The Marshalls seek title and possession of the property. They are represented by attorney Eddie R. Schroeder of Beaumont.
