Company claims it should've been awarded contract

Contract

A Jefferson County company is suing over claims it was not awarded a contract on which it was allegedly the lowest bidder.

H. B. Neild & Sons Inc. filed a lawsuit Nov. 4 in Jefferson County District Court against The Spindletop Center.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was the lowest bidder on The Spindletop Center's project to make renovations to the center's Building F in Courtyards II. The complaint states the plaintiff was not awarded the contract and was not given a chance to appear before the governing body, which is a requirement per local government code.

H. B. Neild & Sons seeks an injunction preventing the defendant from awarding the contract until a hearing can be held. It is represented by attorney Anthony Malley III of Malley Law Firm in Beaumont.
