Businesses get star treatment at Expo

Henry Strait of Southeast Texas Water, center, took a trip to Oz with the staff of Star Graphics at the Business Expo.

More than 100 booths showcased area businesses at the 2007 Southeast Texas Business Expo.

The Southeast Texas Business Expo provided networking opportunities as well as a chance to showcase local companies.

They may not have been national celebrities, but local businesses got the "star treatment" at the 2007 Southeast Texas Business Expo.

The Greater Beaumont and the Greater Port Arthur Chambers of Commerce rolled out the red carpet for hundreds of businesses at the Hollywood-themed event Sept. 18 at the Beaumont Civic Center.

More than 3,000 people interested in the businesses, job fair and networking opportunities attended the Expo.

The Chambers have joined efforts to put on the event for the past four years, making it the largest business showcase in Southeast Texas. Those involved say it helped bring the communities together and promote a feeling of regionalism at the Expo.

Kenny Kraemer, vice president of sales for Star Graphics was chairman of the Expo.

Sponsors included the Southeast Texas Chevrolet Dealers, Raymond James Financial Services, YPI and Time Warner Cable.
