Family visit ends in lawsuit over driveway fall

What began as a family visit ended in a lawsuit after a woman fell in a driveway in Vidor.

Cindy McGlothin of Bridge City filed a personal injury suit on April 27 under Discovery Level 2 against Bobby Park.

The plaintiff's original petition states that McGlothin entered Park's residence at 2855 S. Main in Vidor to visit family members.

Plaintiff was "seriously injured as a result of a dangerous condition in that the concrete drive was in a state of disrepair or in such a condition that made it dangerous."

McGlothin received bodily injuries as a result of a fall on the driveway.

The plaintiff claims that Park was negligent and knew or should have known in the exercise of ordinary care that the dangerous condition existed.

Plaintiff seeks exemplary damages, past and future medical expenses, physical pain, mental anguish, physical impairment, loss of earning capacity and disfigurement.

She is seeking a trial by jury.

Keith Ellis of Vidor is representing the plaintiff.

The case has been assigned to Judge Pat Clark of the Orange County 128th District Court.
